CUSTOM FOOT ORTHOTICS OR ORTHOSES

Custom Foot Orthotics or Orthoses as they are currently referred as are in-shoe foot appliances which are manufactured from a three-dimensional image of the foot called a cast. This cast may be taken by wrapping the foot in plaster or by pushing the foot into a foam box while controlling the entry. These ‘casts’ may also be a 3-D digital image captured by a scanner. Orthoses are made of heat moldable materials like EVA foam or polyethylene foams of different densities. Orthoses can accommodate boney deformities and modify the movement of the feet and lower limbs to reduce pain. (read more about booking an appointment)

GAIT ANALYSIS

Gait Analysis is a study using our eyes and brain, of human locomotion, the way you walk barefeet with the legs fully visible to note the knee and tibia alignment to the feet and ankles and how they react with the ground. The observer notes body mechanics and the activity of the muscles. Pedorthists use this as a tool to assess, plan and treat patients who present with foot, ankle, knee, hip and back pain. ORTHOPEDIC KNEE BRACING

We offer custom orthopedic knee bracing to offload the medial or lateral side of the knee to manage Osteoarthritis or to stabilize the knee. Specific measurements are taken with an approved device and the brace may be OTC or custom fit. These braces may be worn while playing a sport or walking; they delay the need for knee surgery and work well with custom foot orthotics. (read more about booking an appointment)
